Disney Fighter - Tiana by joshwmc Disney Fighter - Tiana by joshwmc
Another to the list. Latest Disney fighter is Tiana from Princess and the Frog, who altered back story is now she's a military soldier who's entered the fighting tournament to prove she is capable of commanding her own unit. This was the trickiest of the characters so far mostly due to her original dress colour (light green and pale yellow, eeck). Went through 3 alteration and character designs before settling on this military look. About 10-11 hours on this one including all the revisions. Done in Painter.

EDIT: I feel as if I need to address the issue of giving this character a gun. Some people seem to be getting bent out of shape simply because I gave an African American girl a hand gun. For starters, I'm Australian, I generally don't know what constitutes racial stereotypes in the US, second I wanted a military character and given Tiana's main colour scheme consisted of green I naturally used her, the colour of her skin didn't even cross my mind. Lastly, people need to relax, how about you just look at her as some kick arse military girl?

... perhaps because I'm japanese, so I don't unerstand Australian's or Amreican's couture but why WOULD there be a problem with black person with a handgun? Is it more socially accepted in the hands of a white person? I didn't really understand the problem here, sorry ^^
But onto what should be on focus here: I LOVED the outfit, very militar-y but with elements that reminds who she is and her movie. Just a minute detail that I thought came out a little weird: her eyes are too big and too... cat/snake-like... her left pupil is more... slitted than circular...

Speaking as a black guy myself, I don't have a problem with you giving Tiana a gun. I love this design!

I American, born and raised, and I see nothing wrong with this design. I wouldn't have even guessed people were bitching about it if you hadn't mentioned it. If I had to guess, I would say at least some of them are what the internet calls trolls.

Very nice...but too much Lara Croft and not enough shapeliness and/or muscle tone. And if we're gonna take the military approach then why did we go with the handgun instead of something a little more...military-grade???
